Bendigo Kangan Institute Food and Fibre Centre of Excellence

Paul Morgan Architects was commissioned in March 2017 to design a new build mixed use facility for Bendigo Kangan Institute. Briefing, design, tendering and construction stages were completed in twelve months, from inception to completion. The brief comprises four main components: administration and laboratories; Animal Studies; Live Working Hub for bobcat and landscape gardening training; and general spaces including three classrooms, reception and link.

 
 

Bendigo Kangan Institute, Food Fibre and Animal Studies Centre of Excellence

With a focus on practical training, the Centre of Excellence provides workplace simulated facilities for the delivery of animals, plants and sciences education.

Training in Animal Studies was provided through: Simulation reception, consultation rooms, preparation room with autoclave, ultrasound, dental machine, pet food prep room, surgery room with anesthetic machines, X-ray room, animal pens and grooming area. Construction components included concrete slab and steel portal framing.

 

Paul Morgan Architects was novated to Kane Constructions in June 2017 via the external Project Managers under a Design-Construct contract and achieved a value-managed outcome within the client’s timeframe requirements.
