The GippsTAFE Warragul Learning Centre is a 1500sqm two level building located to the east of the existing campus and adjacent to the railway station. The building provides learning spaces for Aged Care, Nursing, Health Services, Hospitality and Trades. A street level restaurant serves the public and provides apprenticeship training.
The building superstructure continues Warragul's retailing urban morphology by creating a protective awning to the footpath. The building envelope is like an industrial design object: wind and sun studies have produced an aerodynamic building shell for the 5 Star sustainable building. This approach 'brands' GippsTAFE's vision of innovation, and the use of extensive glazing at street level signals the Institute's inclusive, accountable and transparent approach to teaching and learning.
